What does Stereoblindness really mean?

Stereoblindness, also known as "stereoscopic blindness" or "stereovision impairment," is a condition in which a person lacks the ability to perceive depth or experience stereopsis.

Stereopsis is the visual phenomenon that allows individuals with normal binocular vision to perceive depth and see the world in three dimensions.

It relies on the brain's ability to combine the slightly different images received from each eye to create a single, three-dimensional perception.

Individuals with stereoblindness typically have a limited or absent ability to perceive depth, making their vision predominantly monocular.

This condition can be caused by various factors, including Amblyopia, Strabismus, Aniseikonia, Trauma or injury to one eye.

Ignoring stereoblindness can have several consequences, mainly related to impaired depth perception and difficulties in certain tasks that rely on accurate depth judgments.

Impaired spatial awareness and reduced hand-eye coordination are one the sign and symptoms for Stereoblindness.
